Despite producing more than 4000 works chronicling everyday life as well as important social and political issues, the prolific artist and illustrator was dismissed by many serious art critics during his lifetime. Award-winning art history lecturer Janet Mandel will examine why and how he has remained a beloved American original. We will look at many of his iconic paintings, including some that may surprise you. Register for this event by emailing the library at ref@westorangelibrary.org.
