Help WO - Disaster Relief for West Orange, TX

Hurricane Harvey has caused damage of hundreds of miles along the east coast of Texas.  Though Houston has suffered most of the damage, this storm has impacted dozens and dozens of surrounding towns…and residents.  One of the surrounding towns currently dealing with floods from Harvey is West Orange, Texas.  Mayor Robert Parisi spoke to the Mayor of West Orange, Texas, Mayor Roy McDonald and offered our prayers and support.

Though they plan on talking again in the coming weeks, their immediate concern for the entire region is funds…funds for small necessities, housing options to daily living expenses.  Because of the support of much of the country and the government, food and supplies over the next week or two are not required but will be needed in the coming weeks and months.

If West Orange, NJ residents would like to contribute to assist our fellow “West Orange” residents struggling with the aftermath of this storm we encourage you to make donations to the Mayor’s Sunshine Fund, mailed to 66 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052, with the memo Hurricane Harvey Relief and we will provide the funds to West Orange, Texas.

If residents would prefer to make a donation to the Red Cross to assist the entire area, donations can be made by clicking on this link which serves the Texas Gulf Coast Region. There is a Red Cross Center in Orange, Texas (yes, just next door to West Orange, Texas)

Many people in town have rallied around the tragedy of this storm and encouraged others to contribute to the Holy Trinity Food Pantry, among others…if you feel inclined and inspired by their actions, let’s help out West Orange, Texas and the residents that live there!
