Weekly Covid Update

COVID-19 WEEKLY UPDATE (01.28.2022): Sadly, there are 5 additional COVID-19 related deaths to report. The Township total stands at 252 of our neighbors that have succumbed to the virus.
• 92 Year-Old Male, Passed Away on 1/11/2022
• 86 Year-Old Female, Passed Away on 1/16/2022
• 64 Year-Old Male, Passed Away on 1/17/2022
• 84 Year-Old Female, Passed Away on 1/18/2022
• 69 Year-Old Female, Passed Away on 1/22/2022
📣 Disclaimer: On December 20th the New Jersey State Department of Health Contact Tracing System pivoted the way cases are handled in the database due to the unprecedented case counts. This change impacts the ability to accurately report the true number of cases as has been done since reporting began. We will no longer have the ability to report certain data but will continue to report the data that we are able to capture.
There are 308 additional cases since last update bringing the West Orange total intake of cases to 12,110. 4 residents are currently hospitalized.  3 new hospitalized cases since last update.
• Total INTAKE of West Orange Confirmed Cases – 12,110*
• Cases Officially Transferred to other Municipalities – 222
• Recovered & Closed Cases – 11,543
• Total Current ACTIVE West Orange Cases – 345
• Total NEGATIVE Test Results of West Orange Residents – 17,758
*Deaths are included in this number and remain Active until full investigation is complete.
