UPDATE: Mayor Parisi Announcement re: Storm Clean Up

Message 4/4/2018

Good morning…this is Mayor Robert Parisi

This Sunday, April 8th, is the last day residents can place branches at the curb for pick up and disposal. The Township will continue to work for the next several weeks to clean up the branches but all debris must be placed at the curb by this Sunday.  Once all debris placed at the curb by this Sunday is removed, there will be no additional pick up of branches and sticks.

Branches should not block sidewalks, disrupt parking and should not be placed in the street whenever possible. In the event, residents are required to hire a professional tree service to address damaged trees on personal property, the tree service is required to dispose of that material.

As a reminder, residents can dispose of branches and sticks, at no cost, year-round, at the Township’s Environmental Center on Mt. Pleasant Avenue.  Additionally, branches can be placed at the curb for weekly bulk garbage pickup if cut in small lengths and tied together.

This winter created many challenges…we thank the members of Public Works, Police and Fire and all employees for their service over the last few months…and we thank all residents for their continued patience and look forward to getting our Township cleaned up as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation.

In addition to the snow, this week’s storm left a lot of downed branches and trees. The Township will be working for the next several weeks to clean up the damage. In order to allow time for some snow to melt, for a short period of time, beginning on Monday, March 19th, residents can place all branches and sticks from their property at the curb and the Township will pick them up for disposal. Branches should not block sidewalks, disrupt parking and should not be placed in the street whenever possible. In the event, residents are required to hire a professional tree service to address damaged trees on personal property, the tree service will be required to dispose of that material. We will provide additional communication in the coming weeks to confirm the final date that branches or sticks can be left at the curb for Township pick up.

As a reminder, residents can dispose of branches and sticks, at no cost, at the Township’s Environmental Center at 590 Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

This storm created many challenges and left a lot of damage…we thank the members of Public Works, Police and Fire and all employees for their service over the last several days…and always. Additionally, we thank all residents for their continued patience and look forward to getting our Township cleaned up as quickly as possible.
