Mayor Robert D. Parisi is a life-long West Orange resident. He took the oath of office as Mayor on July 1, 2010 after serving 12 years as a Township councilman. He was re-elected as Mayor in November 2014 & November 2018.

Growing up in West Orange, Rob learned the importance of leadership and community service through family ethics and values. After graduating from West Orange High School in 1984, Rob went on to earn a BA in English Literature from Rutgers University. In 2008, he started his own company, RD Parisi Associates, a West Orange-based employee benefit consultant group.

An active, prominent member of the Township's civic, political and social sectors, Rob's vast accomplishments on behalf of the Township exemplify a deep commitment to public service, which began many years prior to joining the town council in 1998. During his tenure, he has advanced initiatives important to the environment, the arts, health & wellness, and senior services.

He is a founding member and past president of the Eagle Rock Civic Association, a neighborhood civic group instrumental in the renaissance of the Eagle Rock neighborhood. He also founded the West Orange Community Pride Project, which supports the efforts of community-based initiatives. A strong proponent of the Township's Open Space preservation program, Rob led a campaign for voter approval to create the Open Space Trust Fund.

Rob has championed the expansion and improvements of West Orange recreational programs. As co-founder of the West Orange Alumni Association, the group raised over $120K under his leadership to build a new track and field complex and recreational facility at West Orange High School.

Rob's commitment to developing public-private partnerships has helped enhance the quality of life of all West Orange residents through various initiatives. Some of his achievements include procuring a $125K sponsorship from a private pharmaceutical company to launch programming at the state-of-the-art Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center. He also worked with the State and private foundations to secure funding for Senior Citizen transportation and the Commuter Shuttle.

He has spearheaded the effort to bring redevelopment to many areas of the Township, serving on both the Redevelopment Advisory Committee and the West Orange Downtown Alliance. Under his leadership, the redevelopment of the Main Street corridor, geared toward improving and revitalizing the downtown business district, will launch this year.

Rob is married to Sheila Roth (a 3rd generation West Orange resident and active member of several West Orange Irish and community organizations) and has two children, daughter Kelly is an English Teacher at Seton Hall Prep and son Robert, is a Senior at Montclair State University.

He continues to serve West Orange proudly with a strong belief in community input and involvement, public/private partnerships, responsible redevelopment, fiscal responsibility while retaining the 'best practice' services that West Orange offers.

By uniting, serving, and inspiring, his role as a visionary leader has helped shape West Orange into the progressive community it is today.
